John William Watts - Tobacconist, Confectioner and Newsagent (PPP 1924, 1926). Mr Watts has moved to this East Street address from No 12 East Cliff where he has been a tobacconist at least since 1916. At the back of the shop he establishes a lending library.

(K 1933, 1938). In 1930 he also becomes the agent for the printer P Woolner.

(Note: J W Watts dies in November 1953 in King's Lyn. His obituary in the East Anglian notes that he had been a Southwold Coastguard)

John H Chapman - Prop (SRB). The Chapmans return to No 9, taking over the tobacconist, newsagent and confectionery Business from John Watts.

Chapmans Newsagent. As the Chapmans once again buy back into No 9, they also purchase No 12 East Street from Mr Neal.

Cyril and Margaret (Peg) Mack - 'Mack's' Newsagent. Mack's has a sister shop at No 1 Station Road.
